Rental Policy
Initial Set-Up Fee: The per outfit set-up fees are as follows: $25 violin; $35 viola; $45 cello; $55 bass. These fees are non-refundable and are not included in accrued rental credit as described below. A student-quality wood bow, to be selected by Blackerby Violin Shop, may be substituted, when available, for a one-time fee of $20.00-$50.00. Monthly Rental Rate: The monthly rental rates are $20 for violin, $30 for viola, $40 for cello, and $50 for bass. Sales tax is not included in the aforementioned rates. Rent is due on the 1st of each month and considered late after the 10th. Purchase Credit: Credit toward purchase of an instrument is accrued at a rate equal to one-half of your total rental payments for that one instrument. If multiple outfits are rented, credit accrued for two or more instruments may not be applied toward the purchase of a single instrument. Rental credit need not be used to purchase the rented instrument. The customer has the option of applying the rental credit towards any instrument of any size or like-kind in the shop. Accrued credit is forfeited when a rental instrument is returned. Therefore, credit for purchase is only available while the customer is actively renting. Blackerby Violin Shop reserves the right to cancel the rental contract at any time and require the return of the rental outfit. Instrument Protection Plan (optional): The monthly protection plan rates are $5 for violin, $6 for viola, $7 for cello, and $8.50 for bass.
