Repairs and Setup Luthier

Blackerby Violin Shop is looking for a highly self-motivated luthier for a full-service shop based in Austin Texas. This position will focus on repairing and setting up stringed instruments.
Job Requirements
- Completion of a making and or repair school program or an equivalent apprenticeship/work
experience.
- Ability to work regular scheduled hours (40 hours) Tuesday-Saturday.
- Ability to safely handle sensitive instruments, tools, and materials.
- Ability to move to and from the workshop to the storefront to consult with repair customers.
- Ability to perform tasks without supervision.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of rental fleet.
- Estimate/repair/billing of private and school owned instruments.
- Ordering and maintenance of repair parts and inventory.
- All facets of setup and repair of the violin, viola, cello, and double bass.
- Communicating with repair customers in person, telephone, and email.
